Diagnostic tests are undertaken to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of various conditions. The diagnostic tests are used to identify diseases from their characteristics, signs and symptoms and to identify changes or abnormalities. They may require the collection of body fluids and tissue samples using various techniques and medical devices. Depending on the clinical picture, radiological investigations – such as X‐ray, computed tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) – may be required.
